Here's another tribute to Fran's creations. The Lo-Tone Classic Fuzz started with the first two stages of a Muff, with germanium diodes and high gain MPSA18 trannies. It then replaces the other stages with an LM386 power amp used as an opamp before the Tone and Volume controls.
The result is a surprisingly very classic sounding fuzz, but a little meatier on the low end, and nice and crunchy on the high when cranked. Not high output, but pairs extremely well with boosts.
