Clear Water Thunder Fuzz
The Clear Water Thunder is a resurrection of the heralded Dwarfcraft Eau Claire Thunder, a variation of the Big Muff that is tuned for doom, but also has the range to accommodate other tones, and also includes some added features further expanding it's range.
Armed with the usual Volume, Tone and Distortion (Sustain) controls, the Thunder includes four additional features:
Toneblast Footswitch - Bypasses the tone section giving you a flat EQ and big volume boost.
Timewarp Toggle - Selects between clipping options. Up is asymmetrical, middle is none, and we added a third for our version, down is symmetrical for additional compression and sustain.
Trim Control - Allows you to tame the input signal for when the pedal is pushed to extremes (Toneblast on, no clipping, high distortion settings, etc)
Feedback - Gives you footswitchable (momentary) feedback that dumps the output signal back into the input for chewing up the sound as long as you keep your foot down. The Feedback Tune controls lets you control the frequency of the feedback.
The feedback Footswitch has been moved to a small external enclosure, connected by a TRS cable. A 1m cable is included. There is a switch inside the small enclosure that selects between TRS and TS switching, possibly making it useful for other applications as well. The Feedback feature on the Thunder works with either setting.
Note: With the settings at extremes, and the feedback cable plugged in, there is some additional noise. I have done my best to mitigate this (trust me, it was a lot worse), but wanted to be transparent about it. It is a product of externalizing the footswitch, and I did not change the audio path at all in the correction. Using the Trim control and easing back on the Distortion help as well.
Only use a 9V center negative (Boss style) power supply.
Draws less than 10mA of current.
