Elk Fuzz NPN

$159.00

As I dove deeper into research on the Elk Fuzz, I came across more variations. This is a reproduction of an early Electo Sound Big Muff variant with NPN transistors. I was able to find the exact same spec transistors used, which was no small feat.

This variation may also help explain why the EQD Hizumitas has NPN transistors. We know that Wata's original is an early Electro Sound, and could very well have NPNs since we have seen evidence of them being used.

I also decided to change the tone switch on this a bit. I recieved too many complaints that the “Elk” setting was unusable (even though it was made faithful to original specs), so I added another option.

The “Elk” setting now matches the Hizumitas specs. It's also known that Wata's Elk is modified, and the tone section would where I woild start, so it just makes sense. The “Triangle” setting remains unchanged. There is now an unmarked middle setting that is the original Elk spec, but with a slight increase to the capacitor value. It’s also known that the “Z” rated capacitors in most Elks ranged high in the tolerance, which could be as much as 80% over spec.

So with this you are really getting three variations in one.

All other specs remain unchanged. All CK05 ceramic caps, 1S1588 diodes, Alpha pots, carbon film resistors. These include all Lumberg jacks, DC and audio, and a sparkly silver enclosure.
