The ultimate version of the King of Tone has arrived!

All other versions of the Hail to the King have been discontinued since the Ultimate combines the features of all of them and improves on them:

  • Size - Pedalboard friendly 125B with top mount jacks

  • Voltage selector - Internal charge pump boosts the supplied 9V to 18V for switchable increased clarity and headroom

  • No internal controls - No diode dip switches or trimmer pots. All have been moved to external toggle switches and pots

  • High Gain mode - Only available previously as a permanent option, now a switchable control

  • Diodes - Telefunken BA282 and Toshiba 1S1588

  • Carbon film resistors

  • Panasonic ECQ film capacitors

  • Rubycon electrolytic capacitors

  • Alpha pots

  • Taiway footswitches 

July 2024 update:

  • Added side mounted send/return jacks that allows you to send the signal out to other effects and return the signal between the two sides.

September 2024 update:

  • Updated with genuine NOS Panasonic MA858 diodes. The original KOT supposedly used Panasonic MA856 diodes, but the diodes actually have two stripes like the MA858, leading some to speculate that they are in fact MA858s. Either way, these two diodes are are identical in applicable specifications.

  • MA858s currently limited to remaining 2024 drops

Important: Use only a 9V DC center negative (Boss style) power supply. The charge pump boosts the voltage internally for the 18V mode.
