Companion Fuzz FY-2
A reproduction of the legendary Shin-Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz.
Lesser known than it’s octave fuzz counterpart, the FY-6, the FY-2 is a one-trick pony that does it’s trick very well.
Make sure you know what you are getting into. No gain control, the “fuzz” control is actually an EQ control. Gain is always at max. Not super high output, unity is around 3:00. Not well suited for chords, better for single note runs. Scooped mids. But if chewy, garaged, Akron basement, Thickfreakness fuzz is your thing, this is the fuzz for you.
Very premium build with NOS Sanyo 2SC536F transistors, NOS carbon comp resistors, mylar caps, Alpha pots and switch, Lumberg DC jack, NOS Hosiden audio jacks, Hammond enclosure, Alco knobs, the works.
