Sekova Power Booster
The Sekova Power Booster is a faithful reproduction of the vintage circuit from the 1970s.
Similar to the EHX Linear Power Booster, it employs the same circuit topology, but utilizes the Hitachi 2SC1335 transistor used in so many Sekova products.
Adds some vintage color to your tone and pairs well with just about anything.
Let’s talk about the jacks. I can’t bring myself to side mount jacks on anything. These being A size builds, there were definitely some challenges to get the jacks top mounted. I was able to get the jacks in by grinding some material out of each enclosure, but they were still too close together to tighten the nuts. So I got these really cool aluminum spacers to use on one side and they work perfect. Check the pictures. As long as you don’t use flat jacks or anything with a large barrel, you should be good.
Details:
NOS Hitachi 2SC1335 transistor
NOS Matsushita film caps
Carbon comp resistors
Rubycon electrolytic
Lumberg DC jack
Durable powder coated enclosure
