Elk Fuzz

$159.00

A recreation of the classic Japanese Muff copy that has been made famous by Wata from Boris.

This has been made to original Elk specs. To be clear, Earthquaker made the Hizumitas to sound like Wata's Elk, which is somewhat different due to component value differences and drift. So the EQD circuit is quite different vs original specs actually.

The circuit also includes a switch that changes the tone control circuit to match a 1972 Triangle Muff spec. This adds a great deal of versatility to the pedal as the Triangle tone is quite different. This also has a very noticeable effect on the fuzz profile.

This batch features NOS NEC 2SA733 transistors, thought to be the main transistors used in the early Elks.

Also featuring NOS Toshiba 1S1588 diodes, as used in the King of Tone.

All ceramic CK05 mil-spec capacitors.

Genuine Alcoswitch knobs.

Voltage inverter circuit to provide the required -9V operation voltage that allows the pedal to be powered with standard +9V.
